| 内容記述 | 本稿は、2024年4月1日より国公私立を問わずすべての大学等で義務化された、障害のある学生への合理的配慮提供に対応するため、大学図書館における電子媒体を通じた情報保障のあり方を検討したものである。近年、障害を抱える学生の数は増加傾向にあるが、すべての学生が医療機関を受診しているわけではなく、また大学側が対応を用意していても、学生が自身の困りごとを打ち明けることに心理的な障壁を感じるケースも少なくない。こうした学生は、障害者手帳の有無を問わず利用できる情報保障サービスから漏れてしまう可能性がある。 そこで本稿では、國學院大學図書館に所属する筆者の立場から、特に発達障害や弱視の学生が電子媒体から取得した情報を、自身の特性に応じて手元で加工・出力できる方法として、特定非営利活動法人サイエンス・アクセシビリティ・ネットが提供するオンラインサービスChatty Libraryの活用に焦点を当てた。このサービスは無料で読み上げ音声付き電子図書を提供し、テキストファイルやPDFファイルをDAISY図書形式に変換できる。 検証の結果、Chatty Libraryは音声読み上げ機能や背景色の変更機能によって、利用者の情報理解を促進する有用性があることが分かった。一方で、縦書きファイルの読み落としや固有名詞のルビ振りの精度に課題も認められた。これらの制約は、ChatGPTなどの生成AIを活用することで、横組み文章への変換や正確な読み表示が可能になり、より高精度な情報加工が期待できることを指摘した。 また、Chatty Libraryに読み込むための電子データの入手方法についても概観した。学術リポジトリやJ-STAGE掲載論文、青空文庫、国書データベース、新聞データベースなど、著作権に配慮しつつ多様な情報源からデータを取得できる可能性を示し、大学図書館のレファレンスサービスがその支援に有用であることを強調した。 本稿は、今後の電子図書館サービスのさらなる発展を見据えつつ、現時点での既存サービスを組み合わせることで、多様な困りごとを抱える学生が自ら情報を取得し、理解しやすい形に加工できる実践的な方策を提示するものである。 |

| 内容記述 | This paper explores methods of enhancing information accessibility for students with disabilities in university libraries through electronic media. This initiative comes in response to the obligation—effective April 1, 2024—for all Japanese universities to provide reasonable accommodations. Although the number of students with disabilities is increasing, not all seek medical diagnoses, and many hesitate to disclose their difficulties, potentially excluding them from support services requiring a disability certificate. Focusing on the online service Chatty Library, developed by the Science Accessibility Network, this study examines how students with developmental disabilities or low vision can convert and output electronic information in ways suited to their individual needs. Chatty Library offers free text-to-speech e-books and enables the conversion of text or PDF files into DAISY format. The results indicate that the platform enhances comprehension through features such as text-to-speech and customizable background colors. However, limitations remain regarding vertical text processing and the accuracy of ruby annotations. The use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT is proposed to improve these functions. Finally, the paper outlines methods for sourcing electronic texts from various copyright-conscious platforms, highlighting the supporting role of reference services in academic libraries. This study presents practical strategies for empowering students with diverse needs to process and understand information independently, particularly as dedicated e-library services are still developing. | |||||||||||
