| 内容記述 | Scholars have often noted the influence of foreign cultures on the colors and composition of Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji (Fugaku sanjūrokkei 冨嶽三十六景), the masterpiece of the Edo period ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai 葛飾北斎 (1760–1849). In this paper, I delve into the themes and motifs of the series, arguing that Hokusai's creation was informed by his familiarity with yamato-e やまと絵 gained through his involvement with the Rinpa 琳派 school. | |||||||||||||
